At the end of February we held the first of our ‘Behind the Scenes at No.10’ events with Lord Sherbourne of Didsbury and Amanda Ponsonby MBE, who talked to us about their time in Margaret Thatcher’s office as Political Secretary and Diary Secretary in the early 1980s. It was a fascinating event with 80 of our supporters hearing about the inner workings of the PM’s office - everything from how she organised outfits (and hair!) for an international trip to how she handled her speeches. Thanks to both Stephen and Amanda for their time and personal insights into how Downing Street worked at such a crucial time in our history.
