In particular, we recognise the efforts of newly elected Police and Crime Commissioners Kathryn Holloway for Bedfordshire and Alison Hernandez for Devon, Cornwall & the Isles of Scilly. Katy Bourne and Julia Mulligan were also re-elected as PCCs for Sussex and North Yorkshire respectively, meaning that the number of female Conservative PCCs has been doubled. In the Greater London Assembly, Kemi Badenoch succeeded in keeping her seat and remains the only female Conservative London-wide Assembly Member. Women2Win would also like to congratulate all the women who were elected into local government roles all over the country.
If you were elected or recently stood for a council seat, please let us know. Well done as well to all those who have made it onto the parliamentary candidates list so far. The candidates department outreach programme are holding events across the country for people who are newly applying. Women2Win were at the first event held in Tamworth last week, and the next are 4th July in London, 4th August in Cambridge plus future dates to be held in the North West and Yorkshire.
